  • Getting Started - Automatic watch
  • When you first purchase a ventura watch, make sure to wear it every day for at least two weeks. Automatic watches operate through the continued motion of the wearers wrist.
  • When winding an Automatic watch, count the number of times you turn the crown. Thirty to forty revolutions guarantees optimum torque.
  • Make sure you wind the watch first before setting the hands
  • It’s advisable to take the watch off before winding it to prevent unnecessary strain on the winding stem.
  • There is no need to keep the watch in motion 24 hours a day when usually only 30mins of motion is necessary to keep it properly wound
  • If you do not wear your automatic watch regularly put it on an automatic winding unit. Make sure the unit is programmable and doesn’t run constantly. (A winder cannot overwind an automatic watch).
  • General care
  • Avoid extreme conditions such as heat or cold.
  • Keep watch away from prolonged periods of exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Your watch should not be affected by magnetic fields generated by household items such as televisions and stereos.
  • It is recommended that you avoid electric fields or static electricity as these may interfere with the mechanism.
  • It is important to avoid extreme shock or impact.
  • Maintenance
  • Store your watch in a soft cloth away from other jewellery, watches and metal objects to lessen the chance of scratches and wear.
  • Bracelets should be cleaned periodically. Clean with a soft brush dipped in mild soapy water and dry thoroughly with soft cloth.
  • We advise having your timepiece serviced every 18 – 24 months by a ventura approved specialist.
  • Note - Avoid consistent contact with chemicals such as cosmetics, fragrances, detergents, solvents etc, as prolonged exposure may damage the case, gaskets, leather strap or bracelet of your watch.
